  In addition to this, we recently got new stairs installed as the old ones were, again, a safety hazard and surprise, the new ones aren't much better, screwed into a 1/2" sheet of rotting plywood and no screws hit any structural support so it's only a matter of time before these come tumbling down. Exposed screws are everwhere, and the railing isn't even attached to the stairs.

  Terrible management company, they hire outside companies to "maintain" the grounds and then just leave it up to the tenants anyway. If some person ever falls on the ice slicks they call sidewalks in the winter, I hope they sue... really not far off imo.

  UPDATE: Feb 20/18. Just scraped our sidewalk again, this time there was ice melt on it, little late I'm afraid when the ice is 3 inches thick. My elderly neighbour helped me in this groundskeeping task, would really think that would be done by the groundskeeping team.

  Lease agent forgot the key to the apartment and refused to go back and get the key. Then on the day of move in (after I confirmed the move-in that morning) the same lease agent forgot that I was moving in, making me wait for over an hour. Unbelievable.

  Rented a house with this company. The man that lived in the basement unit smoked constantly inside & so our place always smelled. We complained & they were incredibly rude. This is the only place I've ever lived that I didn't get my full damage deposit back. Every landlord I've had is thrilled because I always leave the place spotless. The lady that did the exit walk through took an hour & 1/2! Sure she apologized for taking so long, but she took phone calls during the inspection. Very rude. Then when we get the damage deposit back they charged us a cleaning fee & for things that were missing when we moved in! Just sleezy nonsense. I'm glad we have the move in inspection to back us up, but now we're going to have to fight with them to get back the $300 they owe us. It's the principal of it. When we moved out we had to pay for a carpet cleaner. Fine. $250. That's OK - BUT - The carpet wasn't cleaned when we moved in, the place was filthy (every cupboard was full of crumbs & sticky junk) they left a vacuum in our living room for 2 months before they bothered to pick it up! They must have been trying to show it looking like it was being cleaned, but it wasn't. If you live with this company: get ridiculously detailed in your move-in inspection, & make sure you get a copy, because they're sleezy sleezy people who want to keep your damage deposit. What a horrible experience.

  Even one star is like 10 stars for this company. Worst property management company ever. Don't don't don't ever deal with them. Like most other reviews... they are super duper rude, not caring at all, will charge all sort of unnecessary fees, not listen to either home owners or tenants. They will make no efforts to find a tenant if you are renting your property through them. I had to find a tenant myself. Not only that but they charged me a fee to clean the property but tenant emailed me that the property is not cleaned. They forgot all the garbage bags in the property itself. So they charged me fees again to send someone to pick up the garbage that they left behind. What a terrible experience. Trina Maguire should not be working in this industry at all. She will just argue with you regarding anything. And yes, it's always your fault and she is the boss. But ofcourse, she will be super nice if you haven't signed the contract yet.

  Do not move in to a Charan owned property if you value your safety or sanity, in addition to this the condo fees are ridiculous. Any contact I have had with them has never resolved anything, the sidewalks have been deteriorating rapidly and this affects the grade, so now the water runs towards the building when it rains/melts, it's perfect for that built in swimming pool in the crawl space "feature" if you're into that sort of thing. In the 6 years we've owned our condo every management company that has owned these units gives us the same "in process" answer.
